Description

Galileo Second Generation Satellites Batch1 are designed to embark units (PMU) in charge of monitoring the low energy particles (ion and electron plasma). The Galileo PMU will be used to monitor the plasma environment during the entire mission and at Galileo orbits (MEO: 23222 km altitude). The Galileo PMU will measure the effects of charged particles (electrons and ions) with non-relativistic energies (0.01 to >30 keV) which do not penetrate deep into satellite materials but cause surface charg...
