Ocean observation is currently undertaken independently for different purposes including fisheries management, safe navigation, coastal protection, environmental impact assessment and research. In order to avoid duplication, identify gaps and reduce administrative burden, a digital platform will be further developed and maintained and building on existing observation initiatives, such as EuroGoos and European Research Infrastructures.
