GBLT behandelt jaarlijks een groot aantal verzoeken om kwijtschelding van lokale belastingen. Een deel van deze verzoeken kan via de reguliere geautomatiseerde toetsing door het Bureau Informatie Diensten Nederland (BIDN) worden afgehandeld. Jaarlijks vallen circa 40.000 verzoeken bij deze toetsing uit en is aanvullende beoordeling noodzakelijk. GBLT wil deze taak vanaf dat moment in belangrijke mate automatiseren.
